10. Strange Jinx

There is some jinx in J. League. "Maeda's curse" is especially famous. Maeda is Maeda Ryosuke. He belongs to the Jubilo Iwata, is also one of the players of the representative of Japan for former, and is a very wonderful player. His position is FW and he is carrying out rank in to the higher rank in every season score ranking. What is his curse? Surprisingly, the team which had a season first goal scored by him will be demoted to J2 almost certainly. In 2007, Ventforet Kofu will be determined first goal of the season to him, it got demoted to J2. Since then demotion of the target club had been kept for five consecutive years. Tokyo Verdy, JEF United Chiba, Kyoto Sanga, and Montedio Yamagata. And in 2012, Gamba Osaka is one of the J-League of the "original 10", had no experience of demotion. The good results which continued till the previous year turned around, Gamba Osaka was also involved in the residual conflict. Gamba Osaka fell into the situation of demotion that if it lost the game with the Jubilo Iwata in the final season, it will demote to J2. And Iwata wins by the score of 2-1 in which a game includes Maeda's 1 score and 1 assistance, and Gamba Osaka determined demotion. A result which jinx continues for six consecutive years was brought. From such strange jinx, his goal is called the common name "death goal."

There is other jinx similar to “Maeda's curse”. It is “Mitsusawa’s curse”. Every year, 1 team in the team which played a game with the Yokohama F Marinos in Mitsusawa will certainly be demoted to J2. Furthermore, it is worse than Maeda's curse that the team demoted by this curse cannot be easily promoted to J1. Actually the clubs which was demoted by this curse from 2007 to 2011 (Yokohama FC, Consadole Sapporo, JEF United Chiba, and Kyoto samgha F.C. and the Montedio Yamagata) are still in J2.

There is not only such bad jinx but good jinx. It is “happy color orange”. The team of an orange uniform is in three J1. They are Shimizu S-Pulse, Albirex Niigata, and Omiya Ardija. These three teams have not been demoted to J2 in the past. Especially the Shimizu S-Pulse is one of "the original 10", and continuing being in J1 from the time of J. League opening.

J. League can enjoy itself also from the different viewpoint by these jinx.

9. The Emperor's Cup

The Emperor's Cup is an open tournament of the greatest soccer in Japan, and it is located in a line with J. League and the J. League Yamazaki-Nabisco cup, and let it be the domestic 3 major titles of Japan. The Emperor’s cup was started in 1921. The right of participation of AFC Champions League (ACL) and FUJI XEROX SUPERCUP of a following season are granted to the championship club of this convention.

It is in 1948 that the Emperor's Cup received for the first time. Emperor Showa watched the "East-West game" on April 3 in 1947, and JFA received the Emperor's Cup from the Imperial Household Agency in following July, 1948. At first, although the Emperor's Cup was presented to the winner of the East-West game, it came to be presented to the victorious team of the all Japan championship from the 31st time, and also changed the convention name to "Emperor's Cup all Japan soccer championship" which is the present convention name.

After inauguration of Japan Soccer League (JSL) in 1965, although the right of participation of Emperor’s Cup was given each 4 teams of higher ranks of JSL and all Japan college soccer tournament, there is also a rise of the voice which asks for an open cup like FA cup of England used as the model of the convention, and it became open from the 52nd time. After the J. League inauguration, it becomes the only convention which can fight a pro team and an amateur team, and also a second kind registration team (high school student age) can also participate from the 76th time. Although the 83rd time was mainly held from December on the New Year's Day, it has been improved so that more games can be managed also in Hokkaido, northeast, and north Shin-etsu area which were hard to hold in a cold district by carrying out large expansion of the convention schedule from the end of September from the 84th time.

The "NHK cup New-Year's-Day soccer" which invited the each champion team of a member of society and student is held in 1968 on the New Year's Day. But because the Emperor's Cup final came to be held on New-Year's-Day from the 48th time of the degree next year, the NHK cup soccer was abolished only by this 1 time. As these vestiges, the NHK cup is awarded to a victorious team with the Emperor's Cup now.

Amiri Baraka

Amiri Baraka is a poet, a writer, a music critic, a thinker, and an activist born in American New Jersey Newark. He is a black and supported ardently Barack Obama who ran for the President. He threw the voice of blame at the black which takes an attitude critical of the candidate Obama, and became the center of attention. As a writer, he used a black person's anger as the book, and published it. It is “Home”. His stance completely differed from "nonviolent" advocacy represented by Ministry King. He criticizes non-violence because he thought that it does not contribute to realization of the society where a black person is not oppressed. He also thought that even if non-violence is based on goodwill and a belief, the goal was never reached since it was an asymmetrical belief. Reading this book now is exactly reading history, however, the present "to be nonviolent" could not be judged that it is an attitude which does not desire for a change, either.

8. Yamazaki Nabisco cup

The Yamazaki Nabisco cup is one of the three in Japan major titles with J1 league and the Emperor's Cup all Japan soccer championship.

The J. League Yamazaki Nabisco cup is a league cup which Japan Professional Football League sponsors. In 1997 and the 1998 season, the J. League associate member with the intention which participates in all the J. League teams and J. League fought for the cup. When J2 league was born in 1999, all the teams of J1 league and J2 league will fight for a cup. The finals game which became a one-game conclusion performed in National Stadium.

First, in group league, all the teams which belong to J1 participate. However, the teams which participate in AFC Champions League consider it as seed. The remaining J1 teams are divided into two groups, and the league match of each six teams is held. The team which get the most winning point of each group and seeded teams can progress to a final tournament. Second, in quarterfinal and semifinal of final tournament, the game system is home and away game system. And the team which get the more winning point can progress to final game. The final game is held on November 3rd (culture day). Peculiar production which is not seen in the cup game is performed in the final game. Stadium DJ of both teams comes and members are announced with the system currently held in the home game.

The right of participation of the 1993-94 Asian-Club-Championship convention by which they are originally given to the victorious team of a league match was given as a championship privilege since a league match is a transition period from a Japanese league to J. League in 1992. Now the convention championship club acquires the right of participation of the Suruga Bank championship of the following fiscal year, and plays a match against the cup game championship club of the South America soccer league.
